Why You Might Want to Choose Ceramic Implants

At Bilski Family Dentistry, we want to provide our patients with
as many options to give them the smile of their dreams. In order to do so, we
offer many different materials for the various services and products we provide.
One example of this is our variety of dental implant
materials.

Ceramic Implants

A very popular dental
implant material we offer is ceramic implants. This is an
alternative to the standard titanium and metal options.

Many of our patients who choose ceramic implants are concerned with metal
toxicity, so they opt for a metal-free implant. If you are concerned about
titanium and titanium ions leaching into your bone, this is an excellent
option for you!

Our ceramic implants are made with Zirconia. They integrate better than
metal. It’s a one-piece unit that is implanted. Then we wait for
about four to eight weeks and then go ahead and begin restoring the
tooth.
However, ceramic implants are best for patients with only one or two teeth
needed to be implanted. If you need a full mouth makeover, we suggest
titanium as they serve better as a bulk implant
material.

In the picture above, you see a patient that has had ceramic
implants, and to the untrained eye, you can not even tell that these are
implants!

Fun Fact

If you can maintain your natural teeth or utilize implants (metal or
ceramic), your life expectancy is increased by seven to ten years. So, if you
want to live a little longer, take care of your teeth!
