Consistent Pain in One
Tooth
If you are always experiencing discomfort or pain in one tooth due
to certain foods, hot or cold drinks, or something of that nature, you might
have a cracked tooth that isn’t showing yet.
Cracked Tooth Syndrome
This discomfort is called cracked tooth syndrome (CTS) and is
caused by a vertical fracture in your tooth that can only be diagnosed with
X-rays and trial and error treatments, which makes this condition difficult
to diagnose.
If you are experiencing this constant pain, we start by filling
the tooth. If this solves the problem, then you are done and on your
way!
If this doesn’t solve the discomfort, then you come back,
and we place a temporary crown. If this solves the pain, then we place a
permanent crown, and you are good to go.
However, if the pain still persists after the temporary crown,
then we have to do a root canal to fix the
issue.
In the end, the option of treatment is always up to the patients.
We are here to educate you on what we think is best for your teeth and help
you keep your oral health in good condition. If you want to skip any of the
steps and go straight for the crown to minimize visits and costs, then we
will absolutely do that for you.
